Parking Valet Attendant ( Full-time / Permanent )

We are currently seeking a motivated, reliable, and outgoing team player to join our team located in Halifax and Dartmouth.

Work Schedule:

The successful applicant will work regular shifts of 8 or 9 hours, scheduled between 5:30 a.m. and 8:30 p.m. Shifts may include weekdays, weekends, and holidays, based on operational needs. The position will be based at Halifax Infirmary Hospital (temporary) and later Nova Scotia Hospital (permanent).

Additional hours or alternate shifts may be required as operational demands dictate. This may include overnight and weekend shifts, with shifts extending up to 12 hours.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

• Greeting and welcoming guests to the property

• Parking and retrieving vehicles in a timely fashion

• Operating vehicles safely in confined areas and narrow spaces

• Performing accurate inspections of vehicles for damage prior to taking into custody

• Issue and collect valet tickets as required

• Ensuring safe custody of keys in locked key box

• Ensuring vehicles are locked after parking

• Cleaning the work area, and parking area as needed, including key sanitization and litter pick up

• Answering any questions that guests may have (providing directions, etc.)

• Responsible for adhering to all company policies and procedures

• Assisting guests with general information and directions.

• Directing patients, visitors, staff and others to appropriate parking areas.

• On foot, patrol parking lots to conduct enforcement, and provide assistance to customers

• Take ownership and leadership of the overall parking operations for the locations assigned, while abiding by the standards and norms of Indigo.

• Provide assistance in person and remotely to customers in the use of the automated parking equipment, recognizing and respecting the individual needs of each customer.

• Completing and assisting in minor equipment repairs.

• Assuring cleanliness of the parking equipment.??

• Changing garbage's, picking up litter from parking lots and Sweeping & Mopping if required.

• Wiping down touch points and dusting.

• Other tasks as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS:

• High school diploma or equivalent.

• High level of interpersonal skills, including poise and diplomacy.

• Good communication skills, both verbally and written.

• Previous customer service experience.

• Strong work ethic and commitment to customer service.

• Ability to work with little supervision.

• Ability to work in an outdoor environment.

• Ability to lift up to 30lbs.

• Ability to use basic hand tools and power tools for making repairs.

• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time.

• Previous valet experience considered an asset

• Ability to work with a team

• Able to work outside in all weather (free uniform provided)

• A valid Canadian driver's license (class 5) and clean driving abstract

• A minimum of three years driving experience

• Able to operate a vehicle in confined spaces without damage

• Ability to drive manual transmission vehicles is an asset

Employment is conditional on successfully passing a criminal record and driving abstract check.

Pay: From $19.71 per hour

Expected hours: 38 – 48 per week
